2023 Scholarship Recipients

Dear Members –

I hope everyone is looking forward to having a great holiday. I’m excited to announce that the members of the board have selected nine recipients for the 2023 scholarship. We had forty applications across the First Tee chapters in Washington D.C., Charlotte, Atlanta, and Palm Beach. The diversity of this group was outstanding. There was an even split between girls and boys, a wide range of skill levels, and different ethnicities. But most importantly, each golfer had one thing in common – they were passionate about the game and what it can teach and do for us. Our 2023 recipients displayed this passion better than the rest, were highly recommended by their coaches at the First Tee, and are all capable golfers. Five of the nine recipients are young woman, who we believe, have a strong chance of not only playing collegiate golf, but receiving a scholarship. The opportunity to showcase and grow their skills from Division I coaches will be invaluable for these players. However, what we’re most excited about is the fact that all these athletes are going to develop friendships and experiences surrounding the game that only overnight camps can provide. Of course, we want them to improve as players, but we’d rather they come away with new friends and a deeper love for the game than an extra 15 yards with the driver.

I’ve included a link to each athlete’s application and a summary of the group below. In total, we need to raise $16,000 to provide each golfer with this opportunity.
